Reporting to the Director of Brand and Customer Communications, the Communications and Community Events Manager will oversee Giant Tiger's public relations efforts and manage the PR and community events team. This role will create and manage corporate communication and seasonal public relations strategies, including influencer relations and paid efforts. They will also oversee community events, event sponsorships and Giant Tiger's Charitable Giving Fund.


Create and manage corporate communication and seasonal public relations strategies

Build and maintain relationships with key members of traditional and trade media

Prepare Giant Tiger's spokespeople in advance of media interviews and public addresses

Acts as spokesperson on behalf of Giant Tiger when needed

Oversees influencer marketing and paid PR efforts

Oversee community marketing events and event sponsorships

Oversee and manage Giant Tiger's philanthropic initiatives and programs

Build and maintain relationships with charitable organizations that are in line with Giant Tiger's values

Responsible for campaign budget management and tracking

Responsible for campaign development and forecasting

Key Qualifications

5 to 7 years of professional experience in public relations, communication or marketing

Experience in a retail environment is preferred

Experience in managing teams and multiple ongoing projects

Must be creative, outgoing, enthusiastic and an independent problem-solver

Advance knowledge of public relations and influencer marketing tactics

Ability to work under pressure and in a very fast-paced environment

Strong communication skills are required, as well as attention to detail and creative problem solving

Strong demonstrated organizational and time management skills

Bilingualism (English and French) is
