Position Title: Communications & Digital Marketing Specialist

Position Group: Staff

Reports To: Communications Manager

Status: Full time position

Start Date: May 2021       


JOB PURPOSE:

The Communications & Digital Marketing Specialist will play an integral role in the school's advancement through communications supporting all LCC constituents.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communications Coordination:

  • Participate in the development and implementation of communications strategies
  • Participate in the maintenance of the school’s website and portals
  • Assist in editing and writing content for the website, news items, blogs, e-notifications, press releases, the school magazine, and a variety of publications
  • Manage content for digital signage
  • Coordinate and produce the school’s weekly newsletter (mailbag)
  • Liaise with students to provide communications support for student-led activities
  • Participate in the production of the school’s bi-annual alumni magazine
  • Participate in the production of the school’s podcasts
  • Manage the calendar of communications-relevant activities
  • Support volunteer committees (e.g., parents’ association, alumni association) and fundraising activities
  • Provide technical support for webinars and virtual meetings and troubleshoot communication issues as needed

Digital Marketing:

  • Manage and develop content for the school’s social media channels to maintain and build its social media presence, and initiate new and creative growth 
  • Measure and report on outcomes related to social media campaigns
  • Monitor, listen and respond, as appropriate, to users in a “social” way
  • Research and develop campaigns (e.g., search & display)
  • Monitor social media activities of other independent schools and partner organizations
  • Research developments and implement best practices in online marketing and communications to support LCC communication strategy
  • Manage the annual marketing calendar (including print, online, paid search)

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, administration, or any other field relevant to the position
  • 2 to 5 years of related experience
  • In-depth knowledge of traditional, digital and social media, blogging, search engine optimization, etc.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with attention to detail
  • An understanding of the culture of independent schools
  • Demonstrated use of digital content (including written, graphical, or video format) and social media strategies
  • Proficiency in measuring the impact of digital communications
  • Experience with a CMS
  • Superior writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to accept feedback and work well under pressure
  • Bilingualism is an asset
