The ideal candidate has expertise in the administration, maintenance and improvement of payroll, compensation and benefits programs, policies, systems and processes. Reporting to the Director, People and Culture, the Senior Payroll and Benefits Specialist will be responsible for the following key areas:

  • Payroll  : creation and optimization of procedures, payroll processing (full cycle), payroll accounting, optimization of the payroll system;
  • A dvantages  Social  : group insurance and RRSP, including the management of the annual renewal and opened accession process, benchmarking / recommendations of the direct and indirect benefits (perks), and policy changes;
  • Communication  : advising employees and managers in interpreting compensation and benefits policies and programs and responding to questions and requests;
  • If the candidate has the track record  - support for merit salary increase review, leave management, job evaluation, base salary management, short rewards review and long term, RRSP and policy changes.


REQUIREMENTS  :

  • At least 6 years of experience in payroll processing and related fields
  • At least 3 years of experience in compensation and benefits administration / management
  • Experience with various payroll systems / modules is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of group insurance plans and RRSPs in Canada
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Bilingual, French and English (spoken and written)
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite software, in particular Excel
  • Ability to manage priorities, collaborate and work in a team
  • Sense of organization and ability to meet deadlines

 

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE CONSIDERED ASSETS:

  • Payroll management certification
  • Expérience dans l'élaboration et/ou la mise en œuvre de politiques et de programmes de rémunération et d'avantages sociaux
  • Connaissance approfondie de la théorie et des pratiques liées à la rémunération
