Marketing Specialist (Temporary) – Chambly, Quebec

KTM North America - a subsidiary of KTM, a global leader in the off-road motorcycle competition segment and developer and producer of street as well as off-road motorcycles - has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Specialist located in Chambly, Quebec.  

SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for responsible for coordinating all marketing related activities for Husqvarna Motorcycles and PG&A in Canada.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for building the Husqvarna marketing structure and delivering the yearly marketing plan, strategies and linked goals in line with the business objectives and in cooperation with the North American headquarters.
  • Oversees and tracks marketing budget within agreed parameters.
  • Organizes and participates in event activations including displays and demos. Interacts with the public, press and industry contacts in representation of the brand. Under minimal supervision, may act as a lead at event activations, as needed.
  • Responsible for various public relations activities and press releases. Drafts press releases, memos, and other written communications. Maintains a highly efficient PR process. Drafts communication for internal and external partners.
  • Plans, organizes, coordinates and sets up all new model motorcycle press launches and dealer shows including ride events, photo shoots, etc. May perform various tasks such as ordering supplies, event set up and tear-down, development of media kits, etc. Provides support for marketing events team and exhibitions, as required.
  • Manages and supports related racing activities such as the contingency program, amateur support and any factory initiatives.
  • Fulfills sponsorship deliverables such as providing sponsored individual/groups/events with appropriate materials, selects appropriate content for messaging to be delivered as part of sponsorship agreements.
  • Monitors media channels and outlets for content relevant to the industry. Seeks marketing opportunities and executes activities that maximize awareness and align with the brand’s direction.
  • Manages Canadian social media channels and participates in the development of social media campaigns in order to maximize engagement and grow following. Arranges all postings with various parties, as needed.
  • Develops and manages the paid advertising plan ensuring adequate ROI.
  • Tracks and generates reports on all media coverage. Creates, monitors and adheres to advertising and promotional materials/campaigns budgets.
  • Ensures the coordination of production and distribution and translation of marketing communications, marketing materials and literature. Uploads marketing material to online libraries, website and social media sites.
  • Monitors and checks content on Company websites.
  • Maintains the marketing department’s documentation and consumer databases.
  • Using knowledge, skills and experience, contributes ideas for improving marketing processes and standards.
  • Performs market research and analysis. Includes collecting/compiling information, presenting findings to management and making recommendations
  • Prepares marketing department special presentations, slides and other decks.
  • Responsible for providing marketing support to adjacent departments such as Sales, Includes selecting, packaging, and shipping relevant content and materials to new dealers, field staff, etc.
  • Performs related departmental administrative activities such as processing purchase orders/invoices, expense tracking, booking travel, organizing meetings/conference calls, electronic/physical document filing, ordering supplies, compiling meeting minutes, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Generally requires a minimum of four (4) to six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in a marketing team environment. Motorcycle/motorsports background experience is very strongly preferred. Required proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Press Release Management systems.   

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma required. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in marketing or related field preferred.
