Role Overview

With aim towards generating quality traffic and user engagement to the Luxury Retreats website, the role of Site Editor & Social Media Specialist will involve generating website, database marketing and offline content that is consistent with the Luxury Retreat’s brand platform and voice. The role will also involve the building and execution of social media and viral marketing strategies that will build alternative channels of traffic, user engagement and affinity for the website. The role will contribute to the overall development of the brand as the company grows internationally.

Key Responsibilities

The Site Editor & Social Media Specialist will be comfortable in an ever-evolving role; part of a multi-faceted team with responsibilities including, but not limited to the following:

• Site content development and editing of all Luxury Retreats’ web properties to improve the website experience leading to user engagement and affinity
• Article and database marketing content development to deliver subscription and inquiries
• Development and execution of viral marketing initiatives that leverage social media to generate referral traffic
• In conjunction with SEO/SEM manager, optimize search engine traffic for Luxury Retreats’ web properties
• External and internal communications with focus on improving user engagement with the brand. Development of online and offline advertising displays in conjunction with graphic designers.
• Ensure the integrity and consistency of corporate branding in all marketing initiatives as the company evolves
• Build processes and procedures with aim towards collaborating with other departments.

Qualifications

This opportunity is suitable for an individual seeking growth of responsibility within a very dynamic and competitive environment. As such, we are considering candidates with the following experience and attributes:

• At least 5 years of web site writing experience to a B2C audience. Preference will be given to individuals with a previous background engaging a highly sophisticated, mature clientele that is consistent with Luxury Retreat’s consumer demographics. Travel writing and editing experience would be considered an asset.
• Exceptional English language writing and communication skills. Due to the international nature of the business, additional languages are considered an asset.
• Proven experience working alongside SEO specialists with aim towards generating organic search engine traffic
• Demonstrated social media acumen with a track record of building and executing viral media marketing strategies
• Desire and experience working within a young/creative and fast paced, entrepreneurially spirited environment.
• Proven project management skills.
• Autonomous and capable of interfacing with people at all levels. Sharp, competent, and confident with a strong professional presence.
• Demonstrates solid character and integrity in everything he/she undertakes.
• Undergraduate degree is required.
