Job Description
The Senior Manager, Marketing Planning will develop strategies and tactics to maximize overall marketing achievements in support of the company objectives and business results. Specifically, as a member of the Marketing Planning team, the successful candidate will: represent the consumer, and link market research, customer information and marketing/customer strategies to develop and manage marketing plans for the identified local market.
• Lead the development of the annual Marketing Review and Plan and effectively manage the Marketing budget throughout the year • Provide strategic advice and direction to business partners or the enterprise on marketing plans/customer strategies and/or special projects as assigned, ensuring alignment with the company’s brand strategy and business specific goals. • Build and maintain close working relationships with key business partners to understand and influence business strategies, priorities and direction ensuring business objectives can be converted into effective marketing plans/customer strategies. • Understand and represent the consumer/ customer perspective, linking market research, customer information, product/ service strategies and translate into achievable business results as applicable • May act as the business owner for implemented customer-centric programs where applicable • Identify cross-product and/or cross-business synergies to enhance efficiencies and better serve business needs • Deliver, and manage Marketing Plans, using established processes, tracking key milestones and implementing all projects/programs on strategy • Ensure a high level of service by setting clear standards and communicating status regularly with respective business partners and project team members • Manage on-going relationships and co-ordinate support from key internal and external business partners to ensure effective execution of marketing plan deliverables • Recommend and negotiate marketing budgets for assigned business areas and manage the effective disbursement of approved marketing/program budget • Actively work to resolve escalated issues effectively and manage any changes within projects • Conduct project reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of programs, ensuring budgets are reconciled, stated goals are achieved and learnings are actionable, well-documented, and shared • Be a primary contact for the local businesses, and act as an expert internal consultant, providing advice and guidance on marketing planning and marketing initiatives/issues • Act as a technical mentor in own field of expertise and contribute to a positive working environment • Build and maintain positive working relationships by effectively communicating and regularly sharing information, learnings and knowledge with internal and external business partners • Effectively participate in cross-functional teams • Actively contribute to action plans to address items identified on employee satisfaction surveys • Promote key achievements of the marketing group to share learnings and demonstrate value • Responsible for development of new local programs aligned with national priorities • Support senior cross business executives and the smooth operation of the Local
Marketing Executive Committee Job Requirements
• Over 5 years as a Brand Marketing Manager • People management skills is an asset • Working knowledge of marketing strategy and a demonstrated ability to apply them • Strong analytical skills and ability to deliver actionable recommendations from analysis • Project management experience • Demonstrated abilities and strengths in impacting and influencing stakeholders • Ability to proactively resolve problems and manage conflict/ negotiate positively • The ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment • Strong verbal communication, time management and organization skills • Team player, excellent consensus building skills, with high degree of motivation and desire to collaborate with others to build and maintain relationships • A positive attitude and self-starter approach • Naturally curious with a desire to innovate or improve the status quo • Post secondary in Business or Marketing or an MBA Qualifications specific to Quebec role: - Bilingual (French/English) - Strong knowledge of Quebec market realities
